It’s a new week and that means it’s time for another Hotbox drop! We’ve got hot new music both quiet and loud, poetic and senseless, and beautiful and violent that we have gathered for you all.
Tommy’s Picks:

Cochlea/Canut de Bon – No esperan por nadie
This split LP is a relentless showcase of raw, reckless hardcore, with each band delivering unhinged, intense riffests. Essential for anyone craving feral speed and aggression.

Trhä – ∫um’ad∂ejja ∫ervaj
Album one in a February trilogy – a mind-warping dive into uncharted sonic territory, blending black metal intensity with an otherworldly atmosphere.

Abhorration – Demonolatry
Abhorration’s Demonolatry is a relentless assault of blistering death metal, with eerie atmospherics and unholy intensity. Savage riffs and cavernous production make it a punishing experience.
Cori’s Picks:

Fun Facts – Keep
A great new single from Keep featuring amazing guitar riffs and atmospheric sound aligning with KEEP’s shoegaze sound.

Trust the Feeling- Hidden Spheres, Allysha Joy, Finn Rees
Trust the Feeling is the first release from the trio’s upcoming album influenced by Balearic House, Street Soul, Alternative RnB and Jazz that interweave throughout the album making a great song for listening and dancing around your room.
Bella’s Picks:

The trials and tribulations of… by Clikatat Ikatowi
90s screamo band from the Bay Area!!

Dying to tell by Pennikurvers
EP by 90s femme fronted jangle pop/hxc band

Summer 2000 by X-cetra
Pre teen all girl pop group from the early 2000s!!
Varun’s Picks:

Deafheaven – Lonely People with Power
The dark princes of blackgaze (black-metal-meets-shoegaze) return to the sound they helped pioneer. George Clarke is a truly outstanding metal vocalist. Nothing but cathartic headbangers on here.

Fust – Big Ugly
Rough-and-tumble, heartfelt alt-country for fans of MJ Lenderman, Waxahatchee, Merce Lemon

Weatherday – Hornet Disaster
Angsty, ultra-distorted emo/noise pop with an emphasis on the “noise” part.
Rhea’s Picks:

Shark Brain / Dolphin (Single) – Eartheater, Shygirl
YES! Finally!! Eartheater! Shygirl! Together! I’m at a loss for words, these are two really fun songs.

For the Cold Country (Single) Black Country, New Road
Even though their old lead singer is gone, this new BCNR stuff is lovely and interesting and odd as ever.

GOOBYE SALÒ THE REMIXES (EP) – Brutalismus 3000
Hard techno/gabber. This is really fun, classic Brutalismus stuff, surprisingly good to study to and of course great to dance to. My favorite is the Underworld Remix at the beginning. They just have such a good sound.
Alright, we’ll see you guys next week! Keep on the lookout for our weekly emails and keep checking out the playlist (linked below) to enjoy all the music we’ve shared with you all!
Peace, Love, and College Radio,
